#1 Lower Case
Remove the 10 screws on the back of your macbook.
The screws shown in red are 3mm screws
The screws shown in yellow are 13.5 mm screws.
Attention ; Please do not confuse them as we will put them back on while removing
#2 Lift Cover
Please slightly lift the back of the case we removed the screws
#3 Disconnect Battery
Using the flat end of the spudger, remove the battery connector from its slot on the motherboard.
#4 Fan
Use a spudger straight from the motherboard to remove the fan connector from its slot.
Be careful when doing these operations. It will be healthier if you remove the spudger from the bottom as shown in the picture.
#5 Fan Screws
Remove the three screws you see in the photos
- 1 One 6.5 mm Phillips.
- 2. One 5.5 mm Phillips.
- 3. One 4.5 mm Phillips.
#6 Removing the fan
Remove the fan as shown in the picture.
#7 Logic Board
Grasp the plastic pull-tab that is secured with the display data cable locked and rotate it towards the DC input side of the computer.
Make sure to pull the connector straight away and not straight up from its socket.
#8 Screen Fastening Screws
Unscrew the screws where the shield cable is located
lift the data cable leading to the display towards the top and pull it towards you
#9 Speaker Connector
Use the flat end of a spudger to pry the subwoofer and right speaker connector up off the logic board.
#10 Camera Cable Connector
Gently pull it towards you to disconnect the camera cable from the motherboard. in the direction of the optical drive.
This socket is metal and easily bent. Be sure to align the connector with its socket on the logic board before mating the two pieces.
#11 Optical drive, Hard Drive, and Trackpad Cable
Use the flat end of a spudger to remove the optical drive, hard drive, and trackpad cable connections from the motherboard.
#12 Keyboard Ribbon Cable
You have to be very careful here. Use your fingernail or the tip of the spudger to flip up the cable retention flap on the ZIF socket for the keyboard ribbon cable.
Use your spudger to slide the keyboard ribbon cable out of its socket.
#13 keyboard backlight ribbon cable
Remove the light strip for the keyboard as shown in the photo.
#14 keyboard backlight ribbon cable
Use the tip of a spudger to flip up the cable retaining flap on the ZIF socket for the keyboard backlight ribbon cable.
Using the spudger, slide the keyboard backlight strip out of its slot and it will come out slightly.
#15 battery indicator cable
Lift the battery indicator cable from the main board
#16 Microphone
Lift it up slightly to remove the microphone connector, as it is sticky, it will come out immediately.
#17 Remove the following screws:
Five 3.1 mm Phillips.
Two 3.9 mm Phillips.
Two 7 mm Phillips from the DC-in board.
#18 Lift the battery out of the upper case.
One 5.5 mm Tri-point screw.
One 13.5 mm Tri-point screw.
Remove the following Tri-point screws securing the battery to the upper case:
Lift the battery out of the upper case.
#19 Lift the logic board

∇ Be careful not to rip out the fragile connector plug of the microphone assembly.
#20 Disconnect the DC-In board
Disconnect the DC-In board by pulling its connector away from the socket on the logic board.
